Meet Katy Greene, Charlton Scholar

SUNYCUAD  print

2015-01-16

Katy Greene, digital media manager at Farmingdale State College, knows what multi-tasking is all about. She not only handles “everything” social media at Farmingdale, but she also oversees the Rambassadors – FSC’s student leadership program – manages three interns, and is responsible for multi-site blogs. And that just scratches the surface. Katy’s also a Charlton scholar, and very active in SUNYCUAD. Currently, she is conducting a page audit for the SUNYCUAD website. She also created a Facebook group page for SUNY digital media managers to help facilitate networking and collaboration across all 64 SUNY campuses, and a LinkedIn page as well. In addition, Katy updated the directory of digital media and social media managers for the SUNY campuses, and is a member of the SUNYCUAD planning committee for the 2015 conference. “I love networking with the people that do my job across the 64 campuses,” she says. “We all face the same challenges with social media and the web, so why not collaborate to help each other out and make SUNY a better place to work, and ultimately, a better place for our students.” Katy is more than just social media and websites. She recently earned an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Dowling College, and holds a bachelor’s degree in both Adolescent Education and Political Science from SUNY Cortland.
