Biography
Over the last 14 years, Kelly has engaged in dynamic keynote speeches and presentations about substance abuse to audiences across the country. She has a unique ability to capture an audience's attention and challenge them to think and apply action to their lives. Kelly has extensive experience working with individuals affected by drug and alcohol addiction. She has worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor and Mental Health Counselor. She gained a wealth of knowledge and experience during her career as she has worked with individuals who had severe substance abuse and mental health diagnoses. Kelly has gained valuable experience working with clients affected by drug and alcohol addiction and therefore has dedicated her career to the education, prevention, awareness and advocacy of substance abuse related problems.
Kelly is a Pittsburgh native and graduated as Valedictorian in 1996. She pursued and obtained her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from The University of Pittsburgh. Kelly has worked as a Milieu Therapist in the inpatient treatment unit at Western Psychiatric Institute of Pittsburgh. She also worked as a Counselor for Girls Hope of Pittsburgh, where she gained extensive experience working with at-risk adolescent girls in the residential program.

The Dangers of Prescription Drug Abuse
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have classified prescription drug abuse as an epidemic across the nation. This keynote educational presentation will discuss the alarming trend of the abuse of prescription medications. Prescription drug abuse, dependence and overdoses are increasing at an alarming rate. Prescription medications are becoming the preferred drug of choice among young people, as evidenced by the growing numbers of prescription drug abusers visiting emergency rooms.
