Biography

Kelly Younger is an award-winning playwright with work staged off-Broadway (Manhattan Theatre Club, Irish Repertory Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, Samuel French Off-Broadway Festival), regionally (Pacific Residents Theatre, Bloomington Playwrights Project, Gloucester Stage, Stella Adler, Barrington Stage Company, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, The Blank Theatre Company, Ensemble Studio Theatre), and internationally (Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Dublin Theatre Festival, London Irish Centre Theatre, and Dubai Theatre Festival). His plays are published by Samuel French, Playscripts,Inc., and several annual Best Of" anthologies by Smith and Kraus. He also works in the worlds of Film and Television and is currently writing the new Disney Animation feature as well as a live action feature for Columbia PicturesSony Studios. He has developed work with Mandeville Films, DreamWorks Animation, Junction Films, Disney Channel Original Movies, and Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning (Pirates of the Caribbean). At LMU, he teaches courses in Dramatic Literature, Play Writing, and Fairy Tales. He is managed by Washington Square Arts and Film in New York, and represented by The Gersh Agency in Los Angeles and New York. When not teaching or writing, he's watching baseball, and is an official faculty mentor to the LMU Baseball team, where his 11 year old son serves as batboy.
