Biography

Khulood is currently working as a mentor with Youth Futures; an innovative program at the University of Ottawa targeted at first generation high school students from families who are low income. As a mentor, she serves a role model to the youth while encouraging post secondary education and planning workshops and activities.

After completing a Co-Op summer placement at Starwood Nursing home, Khulood has continued to volunteer in the activities department where she has acquired valuable experience in planning activities and setting up events.

Through out high school, Khulood was an executive treasure of Kiwanis Education Youth, an initiative that organizes school conferences and fundraisers. Khulood was also the president of Student's Unite at Nepean High School, a club that aims to promote awareness of diversity and fundraises for a variety of local and international charities.

Khulood has also volunteered with a local organization called YOUCAN where she facilitated youth forums to gather feedback on how to make the City of Ottawa more Youth Friendly. She has successfully completed modules in cross-cultural conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation, peer helping and facilitation. As a part of this program, she is in training to receive a University credit in peace building.

Khulood is currently attending the University of Ottawa and completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
