Biography
Kia Jarmon is the award-winning owner and creative director of The MEPR Agency, a boutique public relations and brand strategy firm. Kia brings a decade of experience in public relations, program development, and production implementation.
An out of the box communicator, Kia is best known for her ability to connect clients with the community, media, and social communities as well as execute grassroots initiatives. She built MEPR on two primary principles; service to the community and mentoring the next generation.
Jarmon has earned the title as the fastest growing PR professional in Nashville and is a go-to resource for the community and media colleagues. Kia has placed hundreds of stories locally, regionally and nationally within a broad spectrum of outlets. Under Kia’s skilled direction, MEPR is consistently known for being ahead of the industry trends and establishing results for clients.
Kia’s commitment to the PR industry, business, and the community have earned her recognition most recently with the Nashville Business Journal’s Women of Influence award in the Entrepreneur category and additional awards are the Nashville Business Journal’s Top Forty Under 40 and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Top 30 Under 30. In 2011, she was among the inaugural class of the Athena Young Professional nominees. Kia serves on the YWCA Junior Board, the Tennessean Advisory Board, and is a partner with the Pearl Cohn Entertainment Magnet School board.
She is often sought after to speak about public relations, branding, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Kia is currently working on a book entitled ”Learn How to Be Selfish: a guide to being selfish so the selfless moments count”.
