Biography

I am Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer & Chief Creative Officer of Clever Girls, a social media agency offering influencer marketing and native advertising at scale.

Clever Girls' members create outstanding branded content across social media channels: blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter...and maybe even Snapchat. Because teenagers.

From bootstrapped start-up to thriving agency, I've been responsible for developing Clever Girls' extensive network, product & service offerings, marketing & sales strategies, and brand voice. I also led the development of our proprietary tech platform, which we use to connect brands with our vetted network of nearly 7,000 social media influencers.

An industry pioneer, I've been instrumental in shaping how brands connect with women online. Prior to launching Clever Girls, I was an integral member of the original team at BlogHer.com, responsible for ensuring the success of the world's first and largest women's blogging conferences. Which means I developed and delivered some of the earliest monetized influencer programs...basically ever. (I'll show you my battle wounds sometime.)

Before joining BlogHer.com, I spearheaded and managed the Internal / Employee Communications team at Walmart.com, the online division of the retail giant and "Fortune 1" company. Walmart.com receives about as much traffic as Amazon.com and (at the time) employed 600+ people.

I honed my online marketing skills at a boutique media agency in SF, after successive marketing promotions at a strategic consulting firm in NYC.

I live in Napa, CA with my husband and two young children, whose births I live-Tweeted. (Yes, for real. Yes, I know.)

Specialties: Social media strategy, entrepreneurism, native advertising, content marketing, influencer marketing, blogging and blogger programs, social media marketing, humor, Twitter.

Best line ever, from a colleague who saw me give a presentation for the first time: "Kristy, I didn't know you were funny."
