Biography
Professor Laura Huffman received her PhD in French and Francophone Studies from UCLA and did her undergraduate work in French at UC Santa Cruz, the Université de Pau and the Sorbonne (Paris III). Her doctoral dissertation locates autobiographical realism in the work of Marguerite Duras and Annie Ernaux. She has taught at UCLA, Occidental College, Pomona College, and USC. Her teaching interests include the language, literature, culture, and food of France and the Francophone world. She sees foreign language acquisition as an essential step toward intercultural understanding.
