Lorna is currently completing a PhD at NUI Galway titled 'Conquered lands: the anglicisation of MacNamaras Clare c.1259-1603 under the supervision of Professor Steven Ellis.
Lorna is the co-ordinator of Ancestral Connections: Names, Places and Spaces, a new summer school in Genealogy at UCC, Cork.
She is the educational project manager of IARC - the Irish Ancestry Research Centre, currently based at 58 O'Connell Street, Limerick City.
