Louis Doulas

Louis Doulas is Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He received his PhD from UC Irvine in 2024 and then held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at McGill University (2024–26), as part of the Extending New Narratives in the History of Philosophy project.

His research focuses on the history of analytic philosophy, especially on questions in epistemology, the philosophy of language, and the philosophy of science. He also works in contemporary epistemology. Alongside canonical figures such as G. E. Moore and Ludwig Wittgenstein, he studies overlooked thinkers such as Susan L. Stebbing, the first woman to hold a chair in philosophy in the United Kingdom. He is co-editor of the first collection devoted entirely to Stebbing’s work (Oxford University Press, 2025).
