Biography
My PhD research examines the relationship between populist movements and climate politics in contemporary Latin America. My research explores the linkages between left populist movements in government and resource extraction.
I teach at undergraduate level. I lead the level 4 module Introduction to World Politics and lecture on the level 5 module Environment and World Politics. In my teaching, I challenge my students’ assumptions about what counts as politics on a global level. I encourage students to think about world politics in ways that they haven’t before, for example by engaging with feminist and decolonial theory.
I also have a research interest in populism in the UK and Europe, and international politics more broadly.
