Biography

Fr. Luis Proenca directs documentaries, documentary series and new media art. The Episodic Documentary Series Portuguese Voices (Seasons 1,2 & 3 – 2020 to 2022) is Proenca's most recent work in which he served as Producer, Director and Editor.

He directed and Produced also Bali – Art and Creation (2013); Kikola – the Timekeeper (2013) and East Timor – Art in a New Country (2011). The Documentaries Pukiki - The Portuguese Americans of Hawaii (2003); Tradition (2006); Hopes and Struggles of Mozambican Refugees (2006) and Off the Boat (2006) were internationally broadcast over five continents on RTPi (International Portuguese main TV station).

Luis has directed live television programs for the Portuguese National Television - TVI. Proenca is a Professor at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles – USA.
