Biography

Dr. Benson~Quaziena is Principal of The Benson~Quaziena Group. She has over 25 years of experience consulting for public and nonprofit sectors in the areas of change management, executive coaching, leadership development, strategic planning, organizational analysis and design, retreat design, and facilitation and team building.

Marcella has served as Deputy Director for the National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association; Office Chief of Staff Development Training and Diversity with the Children's Administration of the Washington State Department of Health and Social Services; and Diversity Administrator for Washington State Department of Juvenile Administration. She has previously taught at the University of Florida, Bainbridge Island Graduate Institute, and Antioch University.

Marcella was one of the founding members of The National Black Women's Health Project and POCAAN - People of Color Against AIDS Network. She has served as a member of the board of The Washington State Children's Alliance; The Gestalt Center of Cleveland; The Organizational Systems Renewal Master’s program at Seattle University; and the board of Fielding Graduate University.

Her community involvement has included board and advisory committee work with: the Washington State Department of Social & Health Services Cultural Diversity Advisory Committee; King County HIV/AIDS Planning Council; BLAADE - Black, Latino Adolescent Alcohol and Drug Endeavor; Washington State Department of Social & Health Services Task Force on Gay and Lesbian Concerns; Northwest AIDS Foundation Education Committee; Washington State Children's Justice Advisory Committee; and the Washington Association Concerned With Adolescent Pregnancy and Parenting Statewide Steering Committee.

Marcella currently holds a PhD in Human and Organizational Systems, and a MA in Organization Development from the Fielding Graduate University; a clinical MSW from the University of Washington; and a MA in Athletic Administration and BS in Health and Physical Education from the University of Iowa. In 2013, she was named an Honorary Faculty member, and in 2015 received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Gestalt Center of Cleveland.
