Marisa Martinez is a member of the adjunct faculty, teaching an integrative field seminar and serving as a field liaison to first-year graduate-level social work students. She possesses a passion for teaching and mentoring.
Before joining USC, she served many years in direct practice, in an array of settings including child welfare, medical social work, and mental health. A social worker at the Department of Children and Family Services for several years, she worked in emergency response as well as adoptions. In health care, she worked in various medical units at a local community hospital, with her primary experience being in the neonatal intensive care unit.
She received her master’s degree in social work from California State University, Los Angeles, and she is a licensed clinical social worker. She received her bachelor’s in psychology from San Diego State University.
