Biography
I'm a lawyer with 25 years of experience, practicing in the firm of Hanis Irvine Prothero, PLLC, a full-service lawfirm, and the largest firm in South King County. My practice emphasis is on estate planning and legal issues of older people. In addition to my estate and elder practice,I have been serving as a mediator for 22 years, and in the last 10 have focused on mediation of estate disputes. My clients come from all walks of life, from ultra high net worth families to folks with modest estates. I'm an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and was a charter member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners. I have been named five years in a row, a "Five Star" Wealth Advisor in Seattle Magazine.
I am licensed in three states: Washington, Oregon and Alaska, and in addition to in-office meetings, I have a vibrant "virtual" practice with clients who prefer to work with me through phone, internet, email, Skype and other electronic means.
Specialties: Washington State does not offer or allow attorneys to state that they have legal specialties. That being said, I focus my practice on family estate planning, legal and financial issues of older people and special needs planning, veterans long term care benefits, special needs planning and business succession planning
