MARSALEE MALATESTA is part of the adjunct faculty in clinical field education at the Virtual Academic Center. A licensed clinical social worker, she received her master’s degree in social work from California State University, Long Beach, with a concentration in older adults and families.
She has worked as a psychotherapist in a private practice setting, where she helped struggling members of the family system find improved relations and guided people toward a healthy life balance. Although eclectic in her approach, she mainly draws upon humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, systems and mindfulness theories.
