Biography

With almost two decades of experience in email marketing, Matthew is an industry veteran. Leveraging his background in privacy and network operations with deep understanding of; ISP Policies, email authentication policies, and the legal requirements of CAN-SPAM, PIPEDA and Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation.

Matthew has worked at several leading Email Service Providers (EPSs) including Epsilon Interactive, DoubleClick, ThinData, TC Media and Inbox Marketer. As the co-author of the book 'A Complete Guide to e-Marketing under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation', he has also contributed to some benchmark publications during his career including; The Marketer's Guide to Successful Email Delivery, Email Marketing Best Practices and The Marketer's Guide to Applying FISA, The Impact of CASL on Email Marketing and many others.

Engaged and on top of the latest developments, Matthew shares his thoughts on industry trends via an email newsletter and his social marketing blog EmailKarma.net, recognized in 2010 by Ad-links.com (based on the AdAge Power 150 lists) as one of Canada’s top 40 marketing blogs. He is also is a frequent speaker at conferences that cover topics in his areas of expertise. Matthew is also active in various associations, as a director at large of the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email (CAUCE) and Sr Administrator of both the Email Marketer's Club and the Email Roundtable.
