Biography
Dr. Mélanie Giraud received her PhD in French Literature from Johns Hopkins University. Before joining LMU as Visiting Assistant Professor of French in 2025, she taught at Coastal Carolina University, Goucher College, Loyola University Maryland, Bucknell University, Bryn Mawr College, Kenyon College, the University of Central Arkansas, and abroad in Finland and Hungary. Her teaching and research focus on 19th–21st century French and Francophone Literatures and Second Language Acquisition. She has also led study abroad programs in France and enjoys traveling, having lived in four countries and visited more than thirty worldwide.
