Mia Chapman is the founder and chief executive of Girl Geeks Limited, social enterprise, which supports professional women working, starting and managing businesses within science, technology and innovative industries in addition to supporting and encouraging the next generations to pursue careers in these leading industries.
Girl Geeks creates the conditions for business success, career progression and employment, promoting innovation and enterprise whilst providing the skills and opportunities to succeed. Girl Geeks Limited primarily supports women in science, technology, engineering, digital and innovative industries.
The organisation also offers national Girl Geeks ® membership as part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring the UK has a strong supply of scientists, technologists and innovative entrepreneurs.
Mia is also Founding Trustee and Chairman of Girl Geeks Charitable Foundation, the UK’s first ‘Girl Geeks’ charity dedicated to supporting women and young people in financial hardship by encouraging and increasing participation in science, technology, engineering, innovation and entrepreneurialism.
Mia is also the co-founder of vein recognition biometrics security company Biotecnix Limited where she was fundamental in its progression and has contributed to the growing industry profile for vein recognition as the next generation of biometrics.
Prior to starting her own businesses, her career has included many years living in London where her work involved spear heading national and international campaigns for the global and pan-European technology clients of large American agencies.
