Biography
Michele Cascardi, PhD, is the Program Director of the Clinical Psychology PhD Program at Fielding Graduate University.
Dr. Cascardi is a licensed clinical psychologist in NY and NJ and consults as a forensic psychologist on matters related to child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and child custody.
Dr. Cascardi earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Duke University where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. She earned her MA and PhD in clinical psychology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. An active scholar, Dr. Cascardi has published extensively on the topics of intimate partner and dating violence, bystander education to prevent sexual and relationship violence on college campuses, childhood victimization, and posttraumatic stress disorder. She also established school-based programs to promote healthy dating relationships in NY, PA and NJ. Her research to evaluate these programs and improve how the field measures dating violence in adolescent and young adult relationships has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and National Institute of Justice with over $2M in grant support. Dr. Cascardi enjoys mentoring students and teaching courses on clinical case conceptualization, psychology and law, forensic interviewing of children, and research methods.
