Biography

Mo Brouwer has a B.A. in English and Philosophy from the University of Toronto and an M.A. and Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of California, Irvine. She comes to LMU’s core curriculum writing program with seven years of teaching experience in rhetoric and composition.

Mo teaches writing as a practice in developing one’s interests, working with students to find new ways through the figurative weeds and down proverbial rabbit holes. She has written extensively and presented on topics in early modern English literature including representations of labor, ecology, and gender and sexuality. Her current research investigates the social construction of political borders through legal and literary allegories of labor in 16th and 17th century England.
