Biography

Mona Seymour is an Associate Professor of Urban and Environmental Studies at Loyola Marymount University.

Her work broadly concerns the relationships between animal liberation and agrifood movements. She is currently focusing on the intersections of animal-free agriculture with sustainable agriculture and with veganism. Another active project, in collaboration with Alisha Utter (UVM), focuses on veganic farming in the United States. It considers the values, experiences, and farming practices of US veganic growers. She welcomes contact from graduate students seeking an external advisor on topics related to animal-free agriculture, and from other researchers interested in collaboration on such topics.

Her past research has explored urban sustainability planning and green infrastructure, with particular attention to alleyway revitalization and greenspace planning.
