I engage business owners and executives at the level where leadership actually changes, not strategy, not accountability, not goal-setting, but the deeper register of how they think, how they communicate, and how they show up for the people watching them lead.

I am the pause between the notes.

In music, the silence between notes is not the absence of sound. It is what gives the notes their shape, their weight, and their direction. Most leaders I work with have never had a thoughtful pause in their operating rhythm. My work begins there. I create it, name it, and make them hear what lives inside it, about themselves, about the people they lead, about the organization they have built.

I do not work in straight lines. I work in pattern interrupts, metaphors that land sideways, questions that go somewhere unexpected, analogies that swivel direction on purpose. The insight that changes behavior almost never arrives from the direction the leader was already looking. I engage the behavioral depth underneath the role — what drives them, what limits them, what their identity is doing to their leadership, and build the coaching outward from that foundation into risk, conflict, decisions, feedback, and the conversations they have been avoiding.

I have spent forty years inside the kinds of organizations most advisors only consult to. Fourteen ventures built, owned, or operated across two coasts and five sectors. I have lived succession from every seat, operator coming in, operator leaving, partner brokering a merger, chair facilitating someone else's handoff. When I stand with a business owner navigating growth, transition, or succession, I am not working from a framework. I am working from memory.

I am a Principal at OneAccord and lead the firm's Leadership Advisory Practice, partnering with our fractional CEOs, CROs, CMOs, CHROs, and operating advisors on engagements where the human side of the work is the deciding factor. I also maintain my own practice for work that benefits from a single advisor and a longer arc.

I believe in the power of story, the productive tension of discomfort, and what becomes possible when leaders choose authenticity over performance. When I am not advising or facilitating, you will find me on a trail with my dog, working out the next idea, often involving cookies.
