Pablo Weaver

Dr. Pablo Weaver is an ecologist and field biologist passionate about conserving the natural world and connecting students with nature. He received his PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His research interests dovetail the topics of ecology, evolutionary biology, and conservation where he integrates wildlife monitoring, environmental sampling, and molecular techniques to investigate current and historical biodiversity and biogeography, evolutionary mechanisms, and conservation of unique populations and species. Current research involves Caribbean livebearing fishes, avian ecology, and watershed level monitoring in the Dominican Republic. A significant component of Dr. Weaver’s career has been developing and evaluating approaches that strengthen undergraduate research, critical thinking, scientific writing, and quantitative skills. He has served as PI or Co-PI on federally funded projects, including NSF and Department of Education grants. In addition, he has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is a co-author of An Introduction to Statistical Analysis in Research: With Applications in the Biological and Life Sciences, as well as several undergraduate laboratory manuals.
