PATRICIA BABCOCK joined the adjunct faculty at the Virtual Academic Center in 2014. A licensed clinical social worker, she has primarily worked with children and families involved in the child welfare system. She currently serves as interim director of the Florida Institute for Child Welfare, which is housed at Florida State University. In this role, she oversees a legislatively mandated agenda regarding child welfare research, policy analysis and workforce issues.
Babcock is also president of System Solutions for Children, Inc., which provides in-home infant mental health therapeutic services to children and their families in a four-county area in the Florida Panhandle. In addition, she provides technical assistance and training to community-based organizations addressing the generational impact of trauma on young children.
