Biography

Paul Angwin, Managing Director Asia Pacific, for People and Planet (www.pandp.me) has significant senior management experience in corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainability, human rights and philanthropy with more than nine years experience in the Asia Pacific region. His focus areas are philanthropic programs and CSR, particularly in the areas of education, community development and disaster relief. As a result of his personal integrity and professional commitment to this sector over the years, Paul is well respected and highly networked among the Asian CSR and philanthropic communities.
Paul’s corporate experience includes Head of Philanthropy and Community Investment for Credit Suisse, Asia Pacific from 2008 to 2010 where he oversaw the bank’s grants portfolio with 200 NGO partners and an employee engagement platform across 13 markets. Prior to Credit Suisse, Paul served as the Director of Corporate Affairs and Social Responsibility for Manpower Inc., Asia between 2002 and 2008. Manpower is globally and uniquely positioned as a corporate socially responsible leader in human trafficking – a sector that crosses both philanthropic and business interests for the firm. In this regional position, Paul managed all grants, employee engagement and communication efforts for Manpower.
Paul’s early career includes successful roles in General Management and Marketing across several industries where he delivered solid results toward the triple bottom line – people, planet and profit.
Paul’s principle motivation to is enable individuals and companies to express themselves in community investment and philanthropy – acknowledging a personalized approach we all have to giving to a community that has served us well.
Paul is the recent curator of www.TEDxWanChai.com assembling six speakers under the theme of ‘Charitable Impact’.
He sits on the Executive Board and is also Chair of the Grants Committee for Empower in Hong Kong (www.empowerweb.org)
