Biography
Rick Dean is Managing Director & Principal of WAVERLY PARTNERS in Atlanta. WAVERLY PARTNERS is a national retained executive search firm with offices in Atlanta GA, Charleston SC, Charlotte NC, Cleveland OH, Kansas City KS, Louisville KY and Toledo OH.
Rick has successfully completed mid-, senior- and “C”-level search assignments across all corporate functions (marketing, sales, finance, operations, human resources, distribution, information technology) in most industries, including manufacturing, consulting, information technology, pharmaceuticals, high tech, packaged goods, consumer durables, utilities, and trade associations. His clients include Electrolux Home Products, Valliant Pharmaceuticals, Honeywell Aerospace, HON Furniture, Bosch-Siemens Hausgeraete Home Appliances, Iomega Corporation, Whirlpool Corporation, Michelin-North America, The Stanley Works, General Electric Company, Maytag Corporation, Washington Gas Company, American Gas Association, Applica Consumer Products (Black & Decker), Nabisco, McKesson Corporation, Carrier Corporation, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Illinois Tool Works, Platinum Equity, Continental Materials, Nucor Steel, and Pfizer Corporation. Rick brings a general management perspective to his executive search consulting. His two decades of P&L line assignments in both profitable and turnaround companies enable him to be discriminating when evaluating leadership, general management and technical business skills among candidates.
Prior to WAVERLY PARTNERS, Rick was a Vice President & Practice Leader with Stratford Group, a “top 20” executive search firm. He began his executive search career with DHR International in Atlanta and was subsequently appointed Managing Director of DHR’s Charlotte, North Carolina office. Earlier Rick served in a variety of Vice President and senior staff assignments in sales, sales management, marketing, public relations, operations, and distribution with such multinationals as Whirlpool Corporation, Swedish AB Electrolux, United Dominion Corporation, and Australian SouthCorp. Rick also served US Naval officer, with duty in the Pentagon and White House. He is also on the Advisory Board of the Atlanta based Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation.
Rick earned a BS degree from Syracuse University and an MBA degree, cum laude, from Michigan State University.
