Robert Ott earned a bachelors degree in psychology from Stony Brook University and a Ph.D. in psychology from Capella University. He studied and researched the constructs of grit, emotional intelligence, and life satisfaction while working on his dissertation. At the same time, he worked as a psychology instructor at Indian River State College and Fort Pierce Central High School.
