ROBIN SIEGAL, a board certified diplomate in clinical social work, has practiced as a psychotherapist and social worker for more than 30 years. In that time, she has worked in medical settings, counseling centers, academia and business. In addition to her teaching schedule, she directs California Psych Resources, a company offering workshops and training for the business and professional community.

Siegal's depth of knowledge and entertaining presentations have made her a sought-after and highly requested speaker for professionals, businesses and the community-at-large. She has presented workshops for adults and adolescents on assertive communication and conflict resolution, cultural diversity, stress management, grief and loss, sexuality and intimacy, and making marriage work. Siegal also has conducted workshops and training for employees of many Southern California corporations, and has spoken to numerous professional associations and organizations throughout the country.

She was named "Outstanding Social Worker of the Year" by the National Kidney Foundation's Council of Nephrology Social Workers for her exemplary work in kidney disease and patient education.

In addition to being a published author and maintaining an active private practice and busy speaking schedule throughout the United States, Siegal also is the co-founder of the West LA Time Bank, a "pay-it-forward" system of volunteering and strengthening one's community.

Also hired by them (upon graduation) to return to the first-year field placement/internship, to be hired at Clinical Social Worker and Director of Family Life Education Programs for the greater Orange County Jewish community.

Alum’s play challenges perception of social workers

Therapy had nine showings over three weekends in March at the Secret Rose Theatre in Los Angeles. Sitting in the audience on opening night was Robin Siegal, an adjunct lecturer at the School of Social Work. After seeing the play, Siegal decided to sponsor it through California Psych Resources, an organization that promotes creative and applicable training for professionals in continuing education “This was the first time I saw a play where social workers were therapists in private practice. That usually isn’t how we’re portrayed in the media,” Siegal said. “Bernhardt’s play helps demonstrate to the public that we’re capable of more things than being foster care workers.”
