Roger Edwards is marketing director for Bright Grey and Scottish Provident, responsible for marketing, product development, and PR.
Roger has been developing and marketing financial services products for nearly 20 years, specialising in protection products for the last 15. He was one of the founder members of the management team of Bright Grey, the protection business built from stratch by The Royal London Group in 2003.
Before that he was head of product marketing with Scottish Provident. So things have come full circle now that Scottish Provident is back in the fold.
Co-inventor of the ‘protection menu’ product, which is now an industry standard, Roger believes that modern menu plans provide the flexibility necessary to get the fit just right for every client.
A frequent press commentator on protection products, Roger has also chaired and spoken at many conferences in the UK, Europe and the US. He is currently a member of the ABI Protection Strategy Committee.
Outside work, Roger is a qualified fitness instructor teaching Body Combat, Body Balance in clubs around Edinburgh. In 2010 he also became a fully qualified Yoga teacher.

Ever since I appeared on BBC's Watchdog to defend a company that let a customer down I have been a driver of change. Now we have legislation that requires us to treat customers fairly. Do we need these laws or should we be able to do it anyway?
