Biography
Dr. Santiago Caballero is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Seaver College of Science and Engineering at LMU.
He received his doctorate in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas, with specialization in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering. He focuses on all aspects of geotechnical engineering including soil mechanics, foundations and earth structures, and geotechnical earthquake engineering. Dr. Caballero is a licensed civil engineer with approximately 8 years of experience in the industry.
He currently works as a Geotechnical Engineer at the well-known Geosyntec Consultants in the Costa Mesa, CA office. His projects focus on geotechnical engineering evaluations for various clients across the country and around the world, including projects in Ecuador, Brazil, Honduras, Saudi Arabia and Italy and clients including the Army Corp of Engineers, NAVFAC and various Department of Transportation (DOTs). Dr. Caballero often presents in national and international conferences and serves as reviewer and editor of various important Journals.
