Biography

Sarah Case is a Lecturer of Modern Languages and Literatures – French at Loyola Marymount University, where she teaches French language and culture with a focus on the Francophone world. A native Angeleno and self-described Francophile, she brings over a decade of university-level teaching experience, including appointments at Pepperdine University, Santa Monica College, and Long Beach City College, as well as a prior role at UCLA.

Sarah's particular area of expertise is Francophone film, with an emphasis on the work and perspective of female directors. At Santa Monica College, she developed and teaches "Cinema and Conversation," a course exploring French language and culture through Francophone cinema. She holds a Master's degree in French & Francophone Studies from UCLA, a Bachelor's degree in French Literature and Visual Arts from UC San Diego, and studied at the Sorbonne Nouvelle and as a Visiting Scholar at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris.
