SHARON WHEELER is a licensed clinical social worker. She currently teaches second-year clinical practice courses in the mental health sequence. Previously, Wheeler taught clinical practice at New York University.
She has worked for the New York County District Attorney’s office providing individual and group counseling to crime victims, primarily for sexual assault, domestic violence and survivors of homicide. Recently, Wheeler has specialized in end-of-life care with individuals, families and groups at hospices in San Diego, Calif., and Oregon. Currently, she works for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) at Camp Pendleton, providing concussion screenings and education to active duty service members, veterans, their families and the community.
Wheeler’s expertise and interests are in post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma, grief and loss, teaching, and clinical supervision. She is licensed in California, Oregon and New York.
