Sherri Nader, Psy.D., is an expert in mood disorder, individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, and adolescent/teenagers.


SHERRI NADER is an adjunct assistant professor of social work. Bilingual-bicultural in Farsi/Persian, she teaches first-year foundation and advanced clinical courses.

A licensed clinical social worker and a licensed clinical psychologist, she has maintained a private practice since 2001, working with individuals, couples, children/adolescents and families. Her areas of expertise include mood disorder, individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, adolescent/teenagers, young adult mental health, peer counseling, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, trauma and parent education training. She holds a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in school social work.

Nader is one of three clinical psychologists working for the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has more than 15 years of experience working with families and at-risk children and adolescents, providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and consultation. She also provides peer-consultation for complex cases and is an active member of the crisis-intervention team. Previously, she worked for Los Angeles County’s In Home Supportive Services for 13 years, performing geriatric social work and services to disabled adults.

She is a consultant and independent contractor for the California Bar Association’s Lawyer Assistance Program. She is also a frequent guest on Royal Time TV and Omid-e-Iran, conducting interviews regarding Iranian immigrants, acculturation issues, intergenerational difficulties and adaptation to the mainstream culture.

Nader is currently affiliated with the National Association of Social Workers, American Psychological Association, National Alliance of Professional Psychology Providers, Los Angeles County Psychological Association and Iranian Psychological Association of America, where she held the position of secretary for several years.
