Adjunct Assistant Professor specializing in working with children and adults with cognitive and neurological disabilities.


SOFIA MARTINEZ joined the social work adjunct faculty in 2011. She currently teaches field education courses.

Sofia is the Chief of Services for Infants, Children, and Youth Programs and the Fullerton Campus Director at The Rehabilitation Institute of Southern California, a nonprofit organization in Orange County, California. Her experience includes administrative work in a health care setting, serving children and adults with cognitive and neurological impairments. Sofia manages clinical and education programs for children such as Early Intervention and Inclusion Preschool. In addition, she manages medical and social model day programs for adults with disabilities such as Community Based Adult Services.

Sofia Martinez has been teaching social work to graduate students for more than 13 years in
Los Angeles.
