Biography

Stacy Spruill watched an ungodly amount of television growing up and her parents are relieved, albeit stunned, that their sky-high cable bills actually paid off. Stacy is a Hollywood showrunner, writer, and film director.

Stacy uses universal themes to craft culturally specific stories and has written for notable Hollywood talent, and has been head writer on multi-camera and single-camera series airing on streaming networks.

Her short films have screened in over 40 film festivals worldwide, from Cannes to Toronto to East L.A. to Zimbabwe, winning coveted awards along the way. She was hand-picked for Ryan Murphy’s Director Shadow Program at Fox; IDG Media’s China Story Fellowship; Warner Bros. Television Writers’ Workshop; and Tribeca Film Festival All Access. Currently, she is developing two pilots.
