Biography
Steve Lerer currently works as the Assistant Director of Student Life specifically over the Associated Students and Leadership Programs at the University of California, Merced. Steve received his B.A in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Upon graduation he attended Bowling Green State University where he received his M.A in College Student Personnel working in both Fraternity and Sorority Life and Residence Life. Steve serves as the Knowledge Community Coordinator for NASPA Region VI where he oversees the appointment and development of regional representatives to the twenty-six knowledge communities. He is also a member of the planning committee for the 2012 NASPA Western Regional Conference in Hawaii. Steve has worked as a Resident Director at UC Riverside where he was elected Vice President and President of the UC Riverside Staff Assembly. Steve has also served as the awards chair for the NASPA Men and Masculinities Knowledge Community in addition to multiple positions in the Student Leadership Programs Knowledge Community. Steve's future plans include pursuing an MBA and a Ph.D in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies where he hopes to research leadership development.
