Biography
Innovative and determined are understatements when it comes to describing Tammy Turner. For her, success is not an option. It is a must. While some know her as the queen of networking, others know her as a phenomenal entrepreneur and community developer. From high school and college students to churches and professional organizations, her mission is clear: to help others obtain the same, or an even higher, level
of professional success that she has in her career thus far.
After serving for over six years in the field of public accounting, having worked at major firms such as Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche, Tammy realized that her true passion was in the field of Human Resources. More specifically, she wanted to personally help place people in various positions of employment. As such, Tammy worked as a recruiter for Robert Half Finance & Accounting and a senior recruiter at Quicken Loans/Rock Financial. In 2004, Tammy was able to travel overseas to Cambodia where she worked at the International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP) and as a recruiting consultant for UNICEF and HR, Inc. Cambodia. The experience and training over those two and a half years catapulted her into starting her own professional recruiting business, International Employment Solutions, in 2006.
After her return to the United States in 2007, Tammy was able to launch her second recruiting business, Kapstone Recruiting & Training Services, LLC. Seeking to grow the business globally, she has aspirations to open another Kapstone Recruiting office in Singapore in 2013. Her Elements of Success program has helped shape the careers of students and business professionals throughout the U.S. and abroad. In this program, she offers resume writing techniques, business etiquette tips, interviewing tips, and skills to successfully master the art of networking. Her debut book, How to Talk to Strangers: A Step-by-Step Guide to Professional Networking, is a vital tool for any business professional looking to go to the next level. Your mother may have told you not to talk to strangers, but Tammy teaches you how to talk to them.
