Tatyana Gurvich, PharmD, CGP, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy (Clinician Educator), effective October 15, 2018. She also holds an Adjunct Assistant Professor title in Family Medicine at UCI Medical Center. For the past 10 years, she has served as a geriatric clinical pharmacologist/clinical preceptor at USC SOP/UCI Medical Center Senior Health Clinic, a collaborative geriatric primary care practice.
In this role she sees geriatric patients in clinic, provides telemedicine services to patients in the community and makes pharmacotherapy recommendations to attending physicians, medical residents and geriatric fellows. She also supervises fourth-year pharmacy students and pharmacy practice residents and lectures and precepts third-year medical students during their primary care rotation. She has coordinated and taught a third-year geriatric elective course covering various topics in geriatric pharmacology. A 1990 graduate of the USC School of Pharmacy, her main area of interest is to continue to develop a functional interprofessional teaching model to integrate pharmacy and medical education.
She has been involved in GWEP funded activities at USC Family Medicine and UCI Dept of Geriatrics. She participated in multiple programs which have been focused on inter-professional education and outreach to primary care providers in the community. Part of that effort included educational programs for providers and patients in the area of safe pain management in midst of an opioid crisis.
