Adjunct Assistant Professor | USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work


Trang Hoang is a licensed clinical social work and the director of SSG Alliance, which serves adults with mental illness.


Trang Hoang has been part of the adjunct faculty since 2011, teaching foundation practice courses. She also currently serves as director of SSG Alliance, which manages multiple collaborative efforts to service adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

A licensed clinical social worker, Hoang received her PhD in Social Work from what was then called the UCLA School of Public Policy and Planning. She has more than 25 years of experience working in the mental health system in Los Angeles and with the Southeast Asian and Asian and Pacific Islander immigrant populations. She has also worked overseas in refugee camps in the Philippines and conducted social work training in Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region.
