Biography
A former world-class flatwater kayaker, Ty Hagler joined The Home Depot as part of its Olympic Jobs Opportunity Program after completing his degree in industrial design at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
After a stint in the marketing department, Ty joined the company's OrangeWorks innovation lab, bringing multiple tools, hardware, and other home improvement products to market. In 2008, Ty founded his first company, Studio Hagler, an industrial design boutique focused on the many of these same product areas.
In 2011, after completing his MBA in Innovation Management from North Carolina State University, Ty launched Trig Innovation, a nimble vessel for navigating the possibilities in product design and development across multiple industries, including medical devices and appliances. Trig Innovation features a wider framework of services, including ideation sessions for corporate innovation teams, interactive marketing services, video and animation production, as well as traditional disciplines such as industrial design, patent drafting, engineering, and voice of customer research.
During his time at Studio Hagler and Trig Innovation, Ty has helped multiple companies, including sgBlue and SimpliciKey launch disruptive innovations in their respective industry sectors.

Andrew DiMeo, Senior Technical Advisor at miraclefeet | BioMedical Engineering Program - Ideation Session
The first time I met Ty, he made an immediate impression. Since that time, he has served as a mentor to my graduate students studying medical technology innovation. As part of that mentoring, Trig facilitated a brainstorming session. The activity was exceptionally well run, organized, fun, and valuable. I highly recommend using Trig for your pre-ideation, brainstorming, or information gathering needs.
