Biography

Tyler Ferreira is primarily a stone lithographer who also works in Intaglio, serigraphy and mixed media processes. The graphic work of Tyler Ferreira has narrative but the story is deliberately left ambiguous. His compositions are made of irregular, puzzle-piece-like sections laid over one another, hiding and revealing various visual clues. His delicate drawn marks insinuate a classical master’s approach but they often depict rather hip, contemporary, comic-like protagonists. Nostalgia and futurism coexist in a seemingly familiar yet mysterious world.

His works have been exhibited at Moon Fragment Gallery, in Seoul, South Korea, as well as Altered Space Gallery in Venice Beach, CA. His works were also shown at the Sharjah Art Gallery American University in Cairo Egypt, The Midwest Matrix: Continuum, Grunwald Gallery, Indiana University, American Printmakers, Seventh International Print Art Triennial, Sofia, Bulgaria, American Printmakers, Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, Rueff Galleries Purdue, West Laffayette, ID, Fresno State University, Happy dog Gallery, Chicago, IL, and the Southern Humanities Council Conference Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.

He was published in the 6th Edition of Monsummano Terme International Biennal d’ Incisione, Italy. Tyler has participated in over twenty Printmaking exchanges such as Part and Departure at Ohio State, Dirty Printmakers of America a Contemporary Survey in Lithography at the University of Arizona, Tucson, and a Series of Disconnected events School of the Art Institute Chicago, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and most recently the 35th frogman’s juried Print exchange.
