William Collins

Dr. William Collins received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Miami, before pursuing a residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Collins completed a fellowship in Rhinology & Advanced Endoscopic Sinus Surgery at the University of Miami, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Collins stayed on as an attending physician at CNMC within the Division of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery affiliated with George Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. Collins has been at the University of Florida since 2006, and is now a professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine, with appointments in both the Departments of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and Pediatrics. He has been the chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology since 2006, as well as the chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery since 2022. During 2025-2026. Previously he served as a residency program director, the surgical director of the UF Health/Shands Hospital operating rooms and the medical director for the Oaks Otolaryngology Clinic. He is the vice chief of staff-elect for the UF Health/Shands Hospital medical staff and also serves as the president-elect of the Society of University Otolaryngologists. His special interests include management of disorders of the pediatric airway, including sinonasal disorders, snoring/obstructive sleep apnea, stridor, laryngomalacia, vocal cord paralysis, subglottic stenosis, airway reconstruction and tracheomalacia. His clinical interests have led to numerous peer reviewed publications and book chapter authorships.
