Biography
Xiaofeng Zhao, associate professor of the College of Business, earned a Ph.D. (2007) from the University of Tennessee, an MBA (2002) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an M.Ph. (1990) from Northwestern University and a B.S. (1985) from Xian Jiaotaong University, China. He is an expert on quantitative methods and decision science with applications in operations and supply chain management.
Dr. Zhao’s work has been published in numerous scholarly journals and conference proceedings, including the International Journal of Global Management Studies Professionals, Management Decision, Management Research Review and the Decision Science Institute annual meeting proceedings. He recently presented at the Decision Science Institute Annual Meeting and the International Conference of the Association of Global Management Studies.
Dr. Zhao is a member of the Decision Science Institute, the Institute of Operations Research and Management Science and Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honor society.
Dr. Zhao teaches business analytics, quantitative modeling, service management, and operations management. He has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles in academic journals, conference proceedings, and encyclopedias.

Srivastava Organizes International Conference

Of 93 papers submitted, 31 were selected for presentation at the conference and publications in the ICAGMS 2014 Proceedings; selected quality papers are slated to be published in the International Journal of Global Management Studies or International Journal of Global Management Studies Professional. Three UMW College of Business professors — Louis Martinette, Mukesh Srivastava and Xiaofeng Zhao — will also present their research papers. Academics from nine countries including Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, the United Kingdom and the U.S. will present their scholarly research work on global management study.

Associate Professor in the College of Business, Dr. Xiaofeng Zhao’s article, “Nonlinear Programming,” has been accepted by the Encyclopedia of Business Analytics and Optimization (EBAO). The article was published by IGI Global in 2014. Another article by Dr. Zhao, “Linear Programming,” will also be published in EBAO.
