Biography
Ziquan Deng earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He previously earned an M.S. and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and Harbin Institute of Technology, respectively. His research focuses on responsible artificial intelligence, human–autonomy teaming, and computer vision for safety-critical systems. He develops AI frameworks that combine causal reasoning, human–AI collaboration, and structure-aware modeling to enable trustworthy decision-making. His interdisciplinary research has applications in robotics, deep-space exploration, manufacturing, neuroscience, and healthcare.
