About

Greenchip was founded in 2007 to manage portfolios of publicly listed companies operating globally in the environmental economy. Greenchip is 100% committed to invest only in companies that provide products and services offering solutions to environmental problems, or that improve the efficiency of natural resource use. We have compiled an impressive database and track over 600 listed companies annually. To be included in the Greenchip universe, companies must produce environmentally superior products and services, but sales from these businesses must also meet certain revenue tests. Greenchip uses a disciplined four-stage process to identify issuers that will benefit from the growing recognition of environmental stresses, resource scarcity and demographic pressures. The process is focused only on companies that operate in four sectors of the global environmental economy, including alternative power, water, sustainable agriculture and environmental technologies. Most environmental funds offered around the world employ an SRI or ESG strategy. Since these funds invest in almost every sector, they always contain environmentally neutral and even harmful companies, and generally have little chance to outperform broad indexes. In contrast, Greenchip’s multi-sector approach only invests in companies that solve environmental challenges, but is still diversified across several industries. This approach has the ability to outperform broad indexes, while being less volatile than single sector funds. Greenchip has a unique strategic partnership with environmental private equity firm Investeco Capital Corp. Investeco was Canada's first environmental investment firm and manages more than $40 million for over 100 Canadian investors. Investing with Greenchip improves the efficiency, productivity and sustainability of the economy.
