Loyola Marymount University is a top-ranked national university by U.S. News and World Report, which places LMU among the top six Jesuit universities in the country and in the top six private universities in California. Founded in 1911, LMU is a Catholic, Jesuit, and Marymount university with more than 7,100 undergraduate students and more than 3,000 graduate and law students. A manera de ensayo, a thematically organized third-year Spanish composition program, focuses on a process-based approach designed to develop students' writing skills and to promote meaningful communication and collaborative learning. Written entirely in Spanish, the text provides a plethora of innovative writing and grammar activities that guide students through the writing process. Interactive activities and assignments are included to enhance composition skills and to encourage effective group collaboration. Students apply the techniques they are learning to specific tasks and are challenged to think critically about their own writing.
