Nenad “Neno” Pervan was born and raised in Sarajevo, in a country that there is no more... In 1990, he earned his BFA in Acting from the Academy of Arts, Novi Sad. In 1993, following the violent breakup of the country where he was born, Neno moved to the United States. In 1997, he earned an MFA in Performance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. That same year, he moved to Los Angeles, California. In years that followed, Neno co-founded and serves as Artistic DIrector of Il Dolce Theatre Company, which successfully produces plays by international playwrights in various locations in Los Angeles. Projects include titles such as The Emigrants by Mrozek, Macbett by Ionesco, Colonel and the Birds by Boytchev, Romeo and Juliet – Love is a Fire by Shakespeare (adapted by Pervan), and The Tie by Uma Kurt, all directed by Neno.
As an actor, Neno was honored to collaborate with Academy Award winning director William Friedkin on several occasions. He also worked with great theatre directors and pedagogues Liviu Ciulei and Kathalin Laban, as well as a Nobel Prize winning poet and playwright, professor Wole Soyinka. Neno appeared in numerous motion pictures nationally and internationally. He was honored to share the big screen with many great actors, including Academy Award winners Benicio Del Toro and Tommy Lee Jones. He also appeared on American and European stages in numerous theatre productions, ranging from classics such as Shakespeare, Chekhov, Gogol, Dickens, Mrozek, Ionesco to contemporaries like Frish, Carver, Ludwig, Mastrosimone and others.
In the years prior to his LMU engagement, Neno taught film acting at Santa Barbara City College, Santa Barbara, California, and Commedia Dell’ Arte technique at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, West Hollywood. 
Neno is an Associate Artist with an international theatre organization Global Arts Corps, under the creative leadership of Michael Lessac, which brings together performing artists from  opposite sides of countries’ cultural, religious and racial divides to create original theatre productions that encourage dialogue and create a space for people to hear the stories of those they have learned to fear, disdain, and hate. The stage becomes a laboratory for conflict preservation and reconciliation.
Neno directs, acts, and writes for theatre, film, TV, and new media. 
His theatrical directing credits include more than 30 shows he directed and produced both nationally and internationally.
