No more waiting in line …fantastic or fantasy? Will virtual line ups transform your theme park experience?
Last week – Disney may have just changed the way we all see theme parks. Usually the experience at a theme park is mixed with roller coasters, rides, games, food … and regrettably – long line ups. In some cases, there’s a wait of an hour or more for a daring ride that lasts on a few short minutes.
But all that might be changing. At Disney’s new Volcano Bay – visitors are outfitted with a high-tech wristband that now makes it easier to pay and line ups now … are virtual.
This is ground-breaking technology – but great ideas don’t always work as well as they should. Especially when it comes to thousands of visitors a day clamouring to get on the same ride or rollercoaster. But will it work? What’s the cost and will this force other parks to get o board?
