MLB Pitcher Dies in Plane Crash – What to Know about the Icon A5

Last week, two-time Cy Young Winning pitcher, Roy Halliday died when his plane crashed off the coast of Florida.

He was flying a single-engine plane, the Icon A5.

The Icon A5 Icon is a light, amphibious airplane that can land on water or land, have folding wings and can be transported by trailers.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating and according to the the Federal Aviation Administration, the certification for the plane was issued Monday.

The aircraft was brand new.

Last May in California, an A5 crashed killing two people. It was ruled by the NTSB as pilot error.
