Southern Utah University hosted and celebrated its fifth undergraduate philosophy conference (SUU UPC) in March. SUU UPC is organized by the SUU Philosophy Club, assistant professor of philosophy Kris Phillips, and professor of philosophy Kirk Fitzpatrick.

“The conference is an opportunity for students to gain graduate experience at an undergraduate level.” said assistant professor of philosophy, Kris Phillips. “The breadth of different topics is astounding. This year we’ve received a large number of very good submissions from across the country and even beyond!”

“By bringing in students from other places, our students get to interact with those that they wouldn’t have otherwise met. It’s important to hear different perspectives and see different kinds of research projects.” Phillips continued.

Dr. Phillips is a co-editor of Arrested Development and Philosophy, and has published on the history of neuroscience; his primary research interests lie in early modern philosophy. He is familiar with the media and available for an interview. Simply visit his profile.
